[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the air-conditioner because we have some small windows that would not fit a conventional window air-conditioning unit. I found this new portable unit to be very convenient because I don’t have to lift it up into the window and worry about securing in place. It can also be moved from room to room as needed which is great because we do not have to buy multiple units when we just want to cool one portion of the house. It has a relatively slim profile so it doesn’t take up much space in the room. Puts out a lot of cold air. My only complaint is that it is a tad noisy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we first purchased the portable A/C unit I thought it was a bit pricey for what we needed. Turns out is a great investment, We used if in our approx 350-400 sqf bed room. It was a bit noisy but we learned to adjust to it. I was also expensive to operate electric bill went up $220.00 per month but ran it 24-7. Overall I functioned properly, maintenance was only to drain it every other month or so, cleaning the plastic filter and dusting it off. It’s still in service at my electricians home.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Performance, Quality

Problematic Maintenance

This unit operated well for the first month or so, then the water reservoir clogged and the unit stopped draining. The only way to empty the bucket now is to tilt the unit at roughly a 60 degree angle and let the water drain from the bottom of the unit. Even with a drain hose attached to the drain plug the unit fills with water and shuts down in under 48 hours requiring another manual intervention. The water draining from the bottom of the unit creates a mess on the floor and there is no telling what damage, if any, is being done internally since I have been unable to find an exploded parts manual online to determine the cause or solution. This appears to be a "seldom use," "light duty" solution and should not be considered as a "seasonal" fix for a cooling scenario.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works like a charm!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Houston, Tx & bought this unit for an upstairs game room (the only room upstairs) since there is only one main unit for the 2,700sq ft house, and the game room is always 10-15° warmer than the rest of the house - which is excruciatingly hot during the summer months.
I've had the unit for over a year now and run it just about every day. The unit does have it's quirks, ie: spitting out water from time to time (which didn't cause any real problems) but other than that has been a Godsend.
Last week I received a CH02 error message, and instead of calling a tech I simply cleaned the air filter (which hadn't been closed since I bought it... Oops!), And it fixed the issue. --hope that helps someone in the future.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality, easy to use

Love this unit - works beautifully!

I've only used the AC a few times - but loving it so far. I own a restored duplex built in the 1800s with a flat roof - no attic. It's difficult to keep the upstairs cool and my bedroom is on the front of the house - so installing the traditional window unit would be an eyesore. I thought I would try this as it is not so obtrusive from outside. Installation was simple (I'm not the most handy person!) - I did it myself and within 20 minutes it was installed. My 20 X 16 bedrooms chilled from 80+ to 68 within an hour. I haven't entered the height of the summer heat yet - but so far I love this unit. It is not quiet by any means, similar to a wall unit in a hotel room - but I like the 'white noise' while I sleep. The few nights when the temps have been in the 80's, it has kept me very comfortable (I like it chilly in my br). The fan only is a nice feature. Draining may be somewhat inconvenient as the valve is so low... but I haven't had to do so yet so I'm hoping it won't be a big negative. So far... so great

Hard to empty

I like this product but I do not love it. The biggest complaint I have is it says there is no tank to empty however it didn't say anything about the tray under the unit needing to be emptied. I have a smaller btu which I have had for a couple of years and never have to worry about a try filling up. I have had to go out and purchase some tubing in order to drain the tray as it does not pull out. Very hard to drain because it is at the bottom of the tank with just a little plug to attach some kind of tubing to.
Pros: Quality, needs to be emptied, hard to empty tray
