It takes up less room than the Torrent and is not as noisy. it is sleek, very easy to operate, has variable speeds on the turn knob and pulse toggle type switch. it blends and purees easily and quickly due to its high power. There is a removable 'drip tray' under the jug so that any drops are collected - it is easy clean as is the rest of the body. The best part is it has a 10 year warrentee - clearly they stand behind the machines they make
The colour matches my kitchen fittings. Thank you Kitchenaid - love it!

MAKES A LOUD GRINDING SOUND WHILE BLENDING LIQUIDS. WHEN I MOVE THE CONTAINER AROUND IT QUITS FOR A MINUTE BUT RETURNS. WOULD LIKE TO GET IT FIXED OR REPLACED

A real workhorse!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed about this blender is how large the base is compared to my older KitchenAid KSB565 blender. There’s a reason for that...this blender delivers 2.40 HP at the pitcher where the older one gives 0.9 HP. Quite an upgrade!
I wasn’t sure the unit was all that attractive, given the somewhat clunky-looking, large base, but isn’t all that power worth it? Besides, it looks kind of retro, and who doesn’t like retro? The only thing I regret is that I wasn’t able to get the blender in red, because all my other KitchenAid countertop appliances are red and I would rather they matched, but again, no biggie.
When making hummus, I throw in all the ingredients at once, including chickpeas, gooey, lumpy tahini, fresh ginger root and whole Serrano peppers. Just a few pulses and the mixture was completely puréed, even the ginger and peppers. The blender didn’t shake or wobble when run at higher speeds, which really wasn’t necessary but I wanted to try it. The result was a very smooth mixture, not grainy, that pairs wonderfully with pita chips or crackers. My next project will be to make frozen bellinis, and I have no doubt that this powerhouse will have no trouble plowing through ice cubes!

Outstanding Blender

I have had the blender almost 2 months now. I wanted to use it a while before reviewing. I had been using Ninja blenders for smoothies before and having to replace them every year. With the 10 year warranty and the quality and solidness of this blender, I expect it to go 10 years or more. I thought I had smooth smoothies before, but the Kitchenaid takes it to a different level. As far as noise, it does make noise but no more than the Ninja's I do not think there is any such thing as a quiet blender, or at least one capable of dong a good job.
Simple easy to use controls.
Very happy with the purchase would buy it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first thought when I unwrapped this present from my husband was “great, where am I going to park this huge thing on my counter and not use it!” Then I used it once to make a smoothie. My second thought was “How have I even lived without this wonderful contraption!” I use this everyday! I find reasons to use this! It is so powerful it takes 30 seconds or less to do almost anything. I made margaritas for 10 thirsty women in no time and keep up with demand with ease! Clean up is a breeze! No disassembly...just make a soap smoothie and rinse! I LOVE this blender. I proudly display this machine on a very prominent place on the counter!

More than I expected.
