Slows down with use

My only complaint is that the 8910s invariably seem to slow down over time. We currently have an 8710 in the office that is faster. Otherwise we are on our second 8910 (not including one we got under warranty) and we have been generally pleased with its reliability.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great B/W All-in-One

I work out of two different offices, in one office I have a Brother MFC-9970CDW & so we decided to purchase the Brother MFC-8910DW for the other office. Both are great purchases, would recommend them both - highly. The only problem I had was I own the full version of Paperport 12 & I should have only installed the drivers & not the paperport software. Has to start all over. But that was an operator error.

Short Life

My business has used various Brother printers for years. This purchase replaced an identical printer which began making horrible grinding noises and printing poorly just over a year after purchase. I am a CPA, and did not have any more time to waste after the large amount I had already wasted on the problem, so I bought a replacement. Because it was tax season, I had stocked up on toner and drums for this model. If it fails, I am done with Brother. Brother prices also seem to be getting higher than competitors for the same features.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not sure I'd buy it again

While the printer itself works well, we had a terrible time configuring it on our office network. Whenever we got a new or replacement computer we'd have to call in an outside tech support guy to get it to talk to the printer. To this day we can't get it to scan correctly from one of the office computers, and we have big notes taped to it about what NOT to do if you want a scan to work. We've never figured out how to get it to work as a fax -- either to send or receive. Configuration is simply too difficult and convoluted.

Love the machine. Great for small business/small office. Does everything I need, and does it well! I would like it to perform duplex scanning a little faster, but that is my impatience talking. You will not go wrong with this machine!

Finally decided to move up

I had a MFC7820 and it was great. But as Brother kept stepping up the added features. I decided after the length of time on my old machine I would get the MFC8910DW. What a huge upgrade. The 2 sided printing is a breeze. The Control center works great. This Machine is fast and woks 10 times better.
I would recommend this to a friend!
