Very nice printer for my home office

I've purchased a number of low cost printers in the past for my home office. Most of these did the job but didn't have the features I needed (2 sided copy, large paper tray, easy to use multiple size copies and a high speed option). The MFC-8910 was easy to install and so far (2 months) very reliable and addresses nicely everything I need for my home office. I chose a non-color option to avoid the unnecessary expense for color print cartridges. One black cartridge is sufficient for at least 3000 copies. So far -- so good.

Great Machine

Really like the machine but my older Dell computer constantly looses the drivers for the fax and scanner. I have to repair the system weekly. The machine works great otherwise and does everything it says it does.

Best All-In-One ever

I had previously owned an MFC 6800 for ten years which I was very satisfied with and it didn't owe me anything. This new MFC-8910W tops them all. It's fast and has more features like the duplex scanning and printing...scans legal size as well. It has even better performance than my old machine. Brother makes good products!!

I use this printer in a home office environment. It is fast, quiet, makes excellent quality two sided pages and is simple & economical to replace cartridges. It is the 4th Brother printer in my operation and they all work flawlessly.

So Far . . . but Jury Still Out
on July 4, 2014

As a six-week owner, I'm somewhat impressed by the MFC-8910DW but the jury is still out. Positives: very quiet, cost-efficient in terms of paper usage, excellent duplexing capability. Negatives: problem sharing fax with VOIP telephone line (phone calls sometimes accompanied by fax sound) and still haven't figured out how to get status report on supplies. Quality of printed text is okay but perhaps not as good as my HP laser. Too early to comment on ink consumption. First Brother after four HPs.

Great replacement for my HP all in one
on July 5, 2015

I had used an HP all in one for years; but in the 4th quarter of last year, it became absolutely impossible. Huge software issues, with the printer not being recognized; uncountable uploads of software, etc....to no avail
So I switched totally away from HP, to my first ever Brother laser all in one. I have used Brother label printers for years, and they have been remarkable stable, and easy to maintain
Installation was easy
Configuration was easy
Work product is great
The ONLY problem I have experienced is that, as the laser printer "cycles", I hear the UPS on my computer "click". My UPS supplier states that means it's doing what it is supposed to do. I have considered putting the printer on a dedicated electrical circuit; but for the present, all is great.
Brother has been uniformly and consistently terrific in their support
I would recommend this to a friend!
