Very Robust All-In-One

Was looking to replace a failed all-in-on inkjet. During my research, it became evident that inkjet inks are pricey. Color laser cartridges are pricey. I decided to go monochrome laser for long term economy. I mostly do email printings and scanning documents to my server for archiving.
The MFC-8910DW is a robust machine and very fast. I'm using this in a home office environment, and was surprised when my lights dimmed each time I turn the printer on....I assume it must draw a lot of current during start-up. I run a dual band wifi system, meaning I use both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Most of the home devices are on the 5ghz band. Since the printer only supports the 2.4ghz band, I have issues with the PC's seeing the printer and had to revert to USB connectivity. Other than that, no issues.

Stand behind your products

I bought two of these printers based on reading good reviews. One of them functioned well, but the print quality of the other continued to get worse and worse. Finally at month 15 after purchase it stopped working completely. Calls into Brother proved fruitless because "it was no longer under warranty." This is not an inexpensive printer and not used excessively. The only suggestion I received is that I could take it to a local authorized service provider (at my expense.) My guess is that this second unit was a lemon, but you would think that they would stand behind their products. However, that was not the case at all. I ended up buying an HP to replace this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Happy

We use it as our main printer in a very busy practice. This replaced an older Brother and we are very happy with the printing and speed. It is networked and used for faxing, scanning, coping and printing.

Works with Wndows 10!!
I've been able to scan, fax, copy & print...duplex even...without problems.
I've used Brother lasers for over 15 years (only replaced my last one because it wasn't compatible with Windows 10) largely because of efficient toner usage. I trust this one will be economical too.

BROTHERS PRINTER

Works fine. A bit noisier then my last Brother. This machine is a new replacement for the same model I bought about 6 mo. ago that developed major issues early in it's estimated service life. Obviously, I'm satisfied with the Brother printers. The prior model I had worked very well over it's lifespan. This one works well, hoping it continues for the estimated service life.
