Received this for my birthday. It worked great up too about a month ago. The button for the trimmer side won't stay engaged. You have to press the button extremely hard to get it to engage and if you let up it stops making it difficult to use.
Pros: great feel and design overall. very substantiall
Cons: button for trimmer isn't engaging and won't work u

After about 7 years my original bodygroom's battery died. Very happy with the grooming I got with it, I replaced it with the same model. Just an essential part of looking great.
Pros: very efficient and east to use
Cons: a little difficult to use on back withou assistant

I received my new (and free) Norelco Bodygroom 3500 on 6/28/18 in exchange for my unbiased review.
Initially I was disappointed when I started using the product, as it became apparent that depending on body hair type results may vary. That being said, being freshly clean will improve results, as will keeping up with `maintenance`.
I tried the attachments/guards, it came with 3 at different sizes. Perhaps they would work better on course/stiff (and clean) hair, or maybe shorter hair as I quickly found them difficult to use on areas of my body that had long soft, oily, fluffy hair. So for the effectiveness of the supplied guards, results may vary depending on... you.
Without the guard this tool is awesome. It cuts hair like a hot knife through butter and with no nicks, no bruising, no gashes/etc. On a few areas I would typically slow down to make sure I don`t amputate anything, but this machine`s built-in safety guard holds no bounds... similar to using an electric razor just mow everything away, not quite haphazard, or WOT, but pretty close. This alone helped shave (lol pun) about 5 mins off this part of my routine, easily. Plus no burn, and no bleeding & worrying about crazy infections in crazy places; this alone makes the item worth it for me.
The added bonus of the extension/attachment makes the hard to reach areas easier with less pre-stretching involved. Basically I can now reach that one area on my back without any warm-up exercises. Clicks in and out of the attachment easily. A little bulky, but seems sturdy enough that it would last several accidental falls in the bathroom from my clumsy hands.
Cleaning is a breeze. The whole unit is waterproof and the head is easily dissembled for ease of access. It may be helpful if you have small fingers though since the guard/foil is dainty and may be kind of small for big hands/fingers to remove, maintain and clean.
Overall I do believe this item will be the perfect replacement for my normal clippers, as well as a perfect replacement for my cheapo pen style personal trimmer. Cuts better and easier, and the guard works a lot better. A great upgrade for anyone with thick body hair that currently uses the puny as seen on TV trimmers, and/or clippers that can be as dangerous as an electric carving knife, which has been terrifying (and emotionally scarring) in the past when I am near my sensitive areas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little skeptical at first about using this shaver for my back, but it's perfect! I can now reach areas that I needed help with before. It gives a nice close shave without having to worry about nicking myself. It holds a charge for a long time. I have yet to recharge it, and I have used it several times. Th blades have not dulled either.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this body shaver. I have a hard time reaching my back while shaving so the attachment was cruicial. I always have a hard time with ingrown hairs from shaving but this product didn’t give me any at all. I love the different guards. I haven’t had to charge it and it’s been a week. I definitely recommend to everyone who shaves their body.
