Cannot remove trimming unit to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The manual says " push the middle part of the trimming unit upwards with your thumb until it opens (Fig. 18)"
There is no way to do that with your thumb. I had to get a pocket knife and pry that cover off. Bad construction and typical poor craftsmanship found in Chinese products. Or is it bad design on Philips Norelco?

this shaver is good for shaving however, one must be careful around the scrotal area as I nicked myself a few times before I got the hang on using it properly. Being on an anticoagulant therapy the blood loss was not major however the loss did take awhile to heal. Practice does make perfect an my advice is the do small areas at a time.
