SO excited

Luckily it came on a day when we didn't have any homework. He loved building this robot. It was challenging enough that he didn't get bored building it, but easy enough that we didn't need to help him. He's had hours of enjoyment so far with MAX and I don't see that changing any time soon!

A Great Addition to Our Meccano Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has a few Meccano robots and he loves them. This one is definitely going to be his favorite. Their are games you can play, jokes he can tell, an app to help control it. Building it was complicated but not too much for my son. I stayed nearby for assistance. He is really into coding and programming so this was a great surprise for him.

M.A.X. is the coolest!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Max's arrival was anxiously awaited. We had seen the little guy in the stores and thought our kids would love him. They are Lego fanatics and we thought we'd try something new.
When we opened the box we were blown away. As an advertising person I know slick packaging and the box for MAX is just cool. It looks top shelf and isn't cheap by any means. It's slick!
There are many components and pieces. 400 I think. For little ones it may require a little adult help but my guys (8, 10 and 14) tore into it with gusto. They had MAX together in a few hours.
He's bigger than we expected and the expressions are cute. If we had any complaints it would be that his voice could be improved. That might just be us.
Programming is another story. We have 4 kids and they all want to program MAX to do something different. I can see we may have to buy more of these. We wonder if you had more than one if they would tell jokes to one another. The jokes are silly but we DID laugh. Our 7 yr old daughter is trying to teach MAX to sing.
We were worried that the kids would play with him and then move on. They haven't yet and we are all enjoying watching him move and talk. Our cats want nothing to do with MAX but they're snooty anyway. :) The sensors seem to do their job. He moves around items on the floor. I'm waiting on him to have a run in with the Roomba but so far it hasn't happened.
I've read that the more you play with MAX the more he learns. We will see. So far our family is pretty happy with how he is now.

Max the robot

MAX Meccano Is Great for the Holidays!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the MAX Meccano is going to be a great toy for all three of my kids, once we're done building it. It does have many small pieces, and requires a lot of patience to build. I think it's a great activity to entertain a child, and also a great bonding activity for parents and their children. My son is already excited about talking to his robot, and can't wait for it to be complete.

Best toy for little engineers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow is this a cool toy! My son wants to be an engineer like his daddy when he grows up. He loves robots and loves building things. This is the coolest toy in the soon as it came he was so intrigued by it I wanted to open it immediately! He has played with it days on end since. For Christmas you know wants to get the spider and build a collection of these awesome toys. This toy is well-made and won’t fall apart like so many other cheaper toys. I Highly recommend this toy. It makes an amazing gift.

A great option

We haven’t yet figured out what all it will do but he is impressed that he can play games on it. I can see why this product is already on Amazon’s top 100 toys list.

Fantastic for Engineering Minded Kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 10 year old has recently gotten into engineering of various types, and particularly loves taking apart and building robots. When this campaign came about, I jumped at the chance. The day the box came, my son was ecstatic! We set out to build M.A.X. immediately.
It took a bit of time to get the hang of using the tools, but once he got going, he finished all 65 steps in 2 days. He woke up at 6 am before school just to keep working on it. He had a blast. It takes patience and a steady hand, but my 10 year old nailed it. He needed adult help only twice.
So far our home computer isn't allowing us to use the software on M.A.X. so we haven't been able to fully use him (it's an old Mac and my work computer won't allow me to download the program). We're still working on this and are excited for the day we can begin our interactions with him.
