[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be fair, the LUWM101HWA is our first washer/dryer combination unit and also our first unit leveraging ventless (heat pump) dryer technology. Our expectations were that the dryer might take twice as long to dry as our prior unit. With that in mind, we are experiencing washer / dryer times that are five (5) hours or more.
As a family of four (4), we have had to drastically change how we approach laundry as a chore as a result. The size, speed, and savings of the LUWM101HWA are all drawbacks as you cannot complete a week's worth of laundry in a single day, it is now an every day activity for us.
With that said, we really like the interface and many of the other features. Before we experimented with permanent press mode, all of our clothes came out severely wrinkled so now we have to use permanent press with nearly every load.
In hindsight, we would return/replace the LUWM101HWA with a traditional unit if we had the option as it was simply not a good fit for our needs.

Hello Shacke, thank you so much for your review. Due to the unit being a Ventless Condensing system, it does not heat your clothing like a normal dryer. Because of this, it takes longer and is more efficient. It can also take longer depending on how full the drum is and that too can be causing wrinkles. The Worst Machine Ever

We have had this for two years. Do not be fooled into thinking it will save you time because it washes and dries. Takes 8 hours to wash and dry a load, auto detergent doesn’t work, won’t take a normal sized load of laundry AND you have to manually drain it. Knowing what I know now, I would have spent the extra money to have a normal washer and dryer. Waiting for it to break so we can justify getting a new one.

Worst machine I have ever owned

I’ve had this unit for about 4 years…love the features…when they work. I had one machine entirely replaced already under warranty after 3 attempts to fix it…the detergent and softener pumps kept failing…same thing happened to the new unit less than a year later. Warranty company ended up just sending me a check for the value of the machine. Switched to pods to at least side step the non operation detergent and softener pumps to get some more life out of the unit as this was just a minor inconvenience but now the drain pump has failed. Mind you this is their premium line of products…good joke.

Have been using nonstop for 2 weeks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were worried when we bought this washer dryer combo about 3 weeks ago, had it installed in the kitchen for my disabled daughter who can’t used the stairs to get to our normal sized pair. We love this washer. It was bought for her to do her own clothes, but it’s so convenient, we are washing dish towels, jackets and Any thing on the first floor. We had read that it takes forever, 5-6 hours to dry? Nope our longest has been 3 hours for towels? Things are always wrinkled? Nope, in fact my daughter has a shirt that comes out of our big dryer a mess, it came out of here beautifully unwrinkled. We read the directions, never load it more than 1/2 full as the instructions say, carefully pick the cycles we need, and start it. It’s not any louder than the dishwasher, since it’s so well located and tells my daughter’s iPad when it’s done, things are folded and put away before they are cool. Lol.

Clean, warm, dry clothes (if you've got all day)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The features are cool--I like never having to dispense detergent and I like the wifi-enabled phone notification when the laundry is done (it's also cool that I can start the machine remotely, though I have no idea why one would ever need to do that). Also love the compact size. I've never owned a condenser dryer and everyone I talked to about this unit said I was making a big mistake because "the clothes always come out damp with all-in-one machines." Not true at all--the clothes come out perfectly dry and warm, just like with a regular vented dryer.
So, why 3 stars? Because when you load the machine to capacity, a wash and dry cycle takes nearly 8 hours. That was a shock and a huge disappointment. I'm now adding on a separate dryer to cut down on the time it takes to do laundry, which sort of defeats the purpose of the all-in-one unit.

GOOD AND BAD

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THE GOOD: if you want an all in one great looking high tech machine then this is the one for you. I am very happy with the features and how great this machine looks and how convenient it is with the auto dispensing and the touch screen and the fact that it washes and dries is very cool. the alerts on your cell phone and having a cell phone app is very cool too.
THE BAD: if there are more than 2 people in your household then this is NOT the machine for you. takes very long to dry, at least an hour to 2 hours longer than my previous vented dryer and that is only filled 40% to 60% capacity so not sure how it would do if filled 100%. the unit is not great with towels, seems like they get really beat up. (edges are tattered after a wash). also there is a weird smell on the clothes when they are done. its not good or bad just weird. the machine also has a loud humming sound when it is drying caused by the heat pump (kind of annoying). another pain is to clean the lint filter, you have to remove a plug from a small hose in front grab a bucket and drain out the remaining water and then unscrew the filter and remove it. its a pain waiting for the water to drain out. there is also no pre- warning to clean the lint filter. the machine will stop in mid cycle with an error code and will not let you continue until you drain all the water and clean it. that is a big problem.
the mini washer pedestal is a must have or else the main unit is so low on the ground it will kill your back. that being said, the mini washer is MINI. you can only put a few items in it, you have to add detergent by hand, no auto dispensing. and you still have to take out the clothes and put them in the main unit to dry.
not sure if I would buy this again if I had to do over, but I am a single guy so it works for me so far.

Worst laundry product I have ever owned. Constantly clogging and leaking and takes 6 hours to wash and dry. I have owned mine for 2 long years and and finally getting rid of it. The only reason I kept it for as long as I did was because my laundry room was built around it and it was such an inconvenience and cost to redo it.
NO MORE LG.
