Attractive, but impossible to keep clean

The cooktop is very attractive & the gas burners are easy to use; the black grates, which complement the stainless steel background, are solid and are relatively easy to remove for cleaning. However, the stainless steel, which shows every cooking stain & fingerprint, requires cleaning after each use. I would never buy this stainless steel cooktop again because it is a disaster to maintain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Burner Setup

Burner setup is much better than other cooktops I’ve used. Grates are very sturdy, but also hard to clean. Knobs are plastic and scratch very easily. In less than a year we’re on the second set and they are scratched already.

The burner control knobs appear to be solid metal, but a hot griddle pan touch one and we found out that it’s plastic. The pam instantly melted the knob. That was an unwelcome expense on a new stove. Also with only three months of use the burner grates are warping. They are too thin to handle the heat. I do not like the layout of where the knobs are positioned. The control area takes up too much space and griddle pans over hang the grate causing problems with proximity to the knobs. The stove does make decent heat output, although we primarily use the two larger burners only. The griddle side on the left would benefit from larger burners to heat a rectangular pan that covers both burners more evenly. The stainless finish and burners have been easy to clean. I do like the light that illuminates under the knob, but I’m skeptical to how long it will last and the effect of heat to the all plastic in that area over time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cheap Knobs

Profile cooktop (Model #PGP7030DLBB) - wrote a review about the poor quality of the knobs and received replacement ones. In less than a week the stainless steel colored film started to peel off. GE needs to offer another type of knob to replace these cheap ones.
