Decent and can be improve on future releases

This is the model that came when we purchased a brand new house, the heat is prettu much good.I mean the distribution of the heat seems really good. Only comment or suggestion for improvements on this unit is the knob mainly, it is made of plastic and as a matter of fact, mine got accidentally in contavt with the base of a pan and it melted a part of the knob. Currently has 3 knobs that has ding on it.and I personally dont like the profile of the base of the unit. Specifically the part where the burner connect to the base portion. I wish they could have made the base flat and covered by the burner assembly for faster cleaning.

Great cioktop to replace old glass cooktop.

Only problem was plastic knows on controls at front that are susceptible to melting from hot pans being removed from cook surfaces. Enamel surface difficult to clean. Used Cerama Bryte on GE Recomendation and worked very well. Tops of black covers on burners had what appeared to be painting defects (tiny spots in over before 1st use) but tops are being replaced by GE with no questions. Great customer service. Tip works well. Replaced a GE glass gas cooktop 4 burner type.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent Stove Top!

I read numerous reviews about this stovetop, most of them addressed the knobs. I don't know what kind of cooking animals are out there but personally, I have experienced no problem with the knobs. Of course they are going to melt and get damaged from the heat when the flame gets too close to them. If one cooks conservatively and takes care of their equipment, you will have no problem with the neat melting the knobs.
My wife is very happy with this stovetop. You do need to be careful when you clean the stainless. A microfiber cloth is all you need along with some mild soap. A SOS pad or green scrubbing pad will scratch it.
All in all, the stovetop cooks wonderfully. We bought this home with a GE profile that was 10 years old. We simply wanted to update the stovetop with a nice piece of equipment. It took me 30 minutes to install.
Don't try and pinch dollars by not purchasing a new gas line.
Just take care of your equipment!
