We replaced an older GE cooktop with this one to get the fifth burner and a newer stainless steel look.

Looks great if you don’t cook because it stains easily. Even though I clean it immediately after each use, not everything comes off. I have resorted to using large pieces of foil around each pot I place on the cook top to avoid anything splashing g over because I have a couple of stains on this brand new appliance. Now I hate to cook!! Nightmare!!! Appliances chosen by builder.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the Black Stainless finish!

This cooktop is fabulous. Heavy grates that sit higher above the gas burners. The black stainless finish really does not show cooking spills, spatters like regular stainless. The on/off knob lights up when the burner is on. Great extra safety measure!

I like having a 5 vs 4 eye gas grill. It can be a bit of a chore to clean up when oil and grease splatter. The grills are heavy and I like that, however, the tops of the eyes seem to become stained with food products.
I would recommend this to a friend!

For stubborn stains, you can scrub with a cleanser such as Soft Scrub or Bon Ami. Rinse well to remove any traces of the cleanser which might scratch or create a residue on the burner head later.
