Good Except for Stovetop Knobs

Like this cooktop as its easy to clean but the stovetop knobs are plastic and peeling after just a couple years!!!

Melted knobs

I was so excited for my new cooktop, but the knobs melted within 2 wks of use! They look like stainless steel, but apparently they are made of plastic.

The knobs are made of a die cast metal. Actual stainless knobs could become too hot to safely use. That said, we have sent you an email requesting additional information. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Do not recommend this cooktop

The burners are functional as expected; however, I would not buy again nor recommend this product. The stainless steel is so soft that the points where the grates rest are very easily scratched. My husband and I are the only ones using the cooktop and we are always careful to gently clean after each use. We have never used anything even slightly abrasive on this stainless steel yet it scratches so easily. The knobs do not tolerate heat and will deform if anything hot from the oven touches the knob, even briefly. We installed the cooktop in March of 2022 and have multiple small scratches and a cosmetically defective knob. That is saying very little for a newer product that gets little use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good but needs metal parts

Great product, however, the knobs are Plastic. They have a SS finish but made of plastic. So it melts when gets in contact with hot vessels. Alternate parts expensive.

Just got it. Very impressive. Lights are cute... when you turn on the gas, the knob lights up from below. Hope the LEDs last, otherwise it something else that will need service. Fit right in the space I had. Was a little deeper though. Needed to shave the draw a bit so it could close.

I just replaced my old GE cooktop of 19 years, because I was remodeling. I love, love, love the extra burner and the lighted knobs. So excited to have a new GE cooktop to continue my cooking fun.
