This is a good range but I wish I kept my glass top. I still dont want any GE products in my kitchen. There are cooking marks that have built up and dont clean off started about 2 weeks after I started using it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My first gas cooktop

Love it! Easy installation and love the look. Purchased for our new home. For the price, I wish the griddle had been included instead of having to purchase separately

I really love cooking on it

I really enjoy cooking on it. The center burner brings the couple of gallons of cold water in a large soup pot to a boil incredibly quickly.
The front right burner is more powerful as the the hottest burner on my old Amana - and it does a great job for almost anything. The smallest burner is just right for low heat cooming. The other to burners are both very useful strengths.
The controls are very smooth and precise.
The fact that each knob lights up when on is great for when you turn a burner down to low and walk away - you are easily reminded that the stove is still on. A very good feature. (I didn't think that I care about this, but I was wrong)
I also really like the fact that the grates are continuous from one side to the other. It makes it easy to slide a pot from one burner to another while the pot is still full.
My only suggestion would be to bring the small burner to the front left to make stirring easier. But it is really no "biggie."
The finish is somewhat hard to keep spotless. The surface seems to attract spots, some of which are hard to remove. Also the tops of the burners are somewhat hard to clean. That is my only problem with this cooktop. These are the only reasons the pull down my rating - and they are minimal. My meticulous and elderly mother-in-law does not see the spots so I guess that means they really are minimal, but I am waiting till we have had the stove longer and she begins to notice.
Once again, I am having a very positive experience with this cooktop.
All in all, I really am enjoying it.

This stovetop is so easy to clean. I love cooking on...you turn the burner off and you don’t have to worry about your food to continue to cook like electric. It’s a perfect look in my new home. The only thing you have to worry about is losing any of the bumpers that the grids set on. Mine was missing one after the delivery. Putting that aside I still love the unit.

I bought this cooktop in July and began using it in August. In September, I discovered that the middle grill is actually BROKEN and I now need to deal with this. Furthermore, the stainless steel appears to be stained or discolored in a few small areas and nothing I do can clean it off or change it. I love the 5 burners of this stove top as well as the large grills for placing hot plate upon it.

Control knobs MELTED

The stove works great but I'm VERY disappointed in the quality of the knobs - they quickly scratched (white shows thru) and one of the knobs actually MELTED. (white oozing out of it).

Loved my new stove top

Loved it installed one week, replacing my 25 years old counter top can’t tell you how wonderful it is to cook my meal. Before I had to light up my gas stove top , it’s been long over due. Did a lot of research before I settled in this model so happy I made the move to this
