Don't buy this product

The product looks nice but comes with cheap plastic knobs. There are no replacements available made of high quality materials. Your knobs will start to chip and flake after a year and the stove will look bad, without any options to make it look nicer. Save your money for a higher quality product.

Burner knobs

We picked this cooktop for our new home. We did not have any other choices besides GE. Within the first month of using it, we noticed that the farthest right control knob had melted from the heat of pans on the burner. The knobs are too close to the burners and it is difficult to use normal size frying pans without them touching the knobs. I ordered a few more knobs for replacement backups. We have already used two of them. We have been cooking for 40 years and have never ever had a problem like this with a cooktop. We've also replaced one of the burner plates because if anything gets on them, they are almost impossible to get clean.

THREE defective in a row

I purchased this for a kitchen remodel. First one was chipped, second was warped, third is now also warped. I will be asking for a refund and looking for another brand rather than risk a fourth. I have always really liked GE appliances - great quality, great reliability. But this round has been a nightmare and I will be moving to another vendor. My GE microwave was also broken, and they sent me a broken replacement part. So GE is so far 1 win (wall oven) and 5 losses (3 cooktops, 2 microwaves). Unacceptable.
As for appearances (if not defective), it is attractive, feels solid. I like the grids/grill cover. The knobs light up which impressed the husband. Overall would be happy if they had any sort of quality control at all.

Good burner , but some plastic

It's a good set of burners but there is some use of plastic which appears to be less heat resistant . But GE was quick to provide a replacement. In the long run as well such items made of plastic which could get in contact with heat and easily melt should be covered for free. Or I wish GE comes up with stainless steel knobs that can fit and be a good replacement.

Why plastic?

An appliance which came with a new home.. we’re getting used to it, but find the control knobs made out of plastic which can melt quite an annoyance as we need to always be so careful with it. Not sure why you’d use plastic material in any cooktop.

Looks great but burner performance isn’t uniform across the five burners. The power burner for the big pots is not as strong as the right side burners which isn’t correct. Need to contact ge ad this performance isn’t acceptable

cook top it self works great, nobs are super cheap

I have been trying to get nobs replaced since they melt right off. Called several times waiting for about an hr and no answer. Today I chose to write because i was on hold for 42 min agent answers and hangs up. Can anyone just ship me the nobs (they are in warrenty)
