Great burner control

We love the indicator lights under the knobs. When you have the burner on very low it is easy to miss the fact the burner is on, the lamp is a great reminder. We also love how low the burners will go especially the right rear keep warm burner. The one negative, Do not use a paper towel to wipe between the control knobs, they will scratch the finish. We recommend a cloth towel.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there,

This cooktop is fabulous with the heavy grates that sit higher above the gas burners. The black stainless finish really does not show cooking spills, or spatters like regular stainless. We know the indicator light on the burner provides an extra safety measure.

Beautiful stove top as long as you don't use it. Beautiful design, and the extra burner is wonderful. Cleaning the unit is another story however. You must remove the 3 grates which are fairly heavy. They sit on several inadequate bumpers which are supposed to protect the cooktop from scratching, however, with all of the removing to clean, it's easy to miss a bumper and scratch the unit. Further, the bumpers fall off easily and do not stay in place. The knobs that come with the Black on Black Profile model are not silver as all pictures indicate, but a dark brown color. Not really black. Love the power of the burners, and the even and quick cook times, but cleaning is a nightmare.

The knobs melt - i have had my cook top for a little over a year and have now had to replace the knobs 3 times. they tell me i just need to keep buying new knobs and are aware of this issue - would not recommend this. I work construction in Chicago and all have told many people of this issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Knobs are melting

Worst cooktop I have used in last 20 yrs. Never seen knobs melting for any cooktop. The surface scratches easily and looks really bad. I have the 30 inch and it’s not worth for a 5 burner cooktop. The major disappointment was the knobs melting. It’s looks like made of cheap plastic.

Worst Design

Very very bad design. Knobs getting melted when we use the burners for more than 1 hr. Replaced 3 times in 2 months after the cooktop installation. All the 5 burner indicators printed on the cooktop were erased in 3 months after newly installed.

We upgraded to the GE Gas Profile Cooktop in our new K Hovnanian builder home as we liked the look. However, after a few days of use we noticied that the knobes on this “heavy duty stainless steel cooktop” had melted. The knobs are actually plastic with a metal looking paint coating.
