I wanted white which is hard to find.

As you can see, this cook top did not seat flush with the countertop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A filler trim kit is available for use if your countertop cutout is larger than the dimensions, up to 29-13/16” x 20-7/16”. Order JXTR32W (white) to reduce the cutout opening for installation of this cooktop. This kit may be ordered from your dealer or directly from GE Appliances at www.geappliances.com

The knobs alone are the reason not to buy this

The stove top Knobs are horrible. They are a danger! Within two years of buying my home two of the knobs have cracked and do not work properly. I noticed this each time after seeing the burners still on even though I thought I turned them off. The only option is to replace them with the same knobs. Since two have cracked so far why would I replace them with the same defective dangerous knobs that will break again. These should be recalled immediately.
