Do they match up with floor standing JBL 830's from the 80's that i I have and their still sounding Good

Absolutely. The STUDIO 580 incorporates a horn-loaded compression driver. They are very sensitive/efficient, so can put out a lot of sound when given power (amplifier power, watts). They are good add dispersing sound in a wider array, thus accommodating a larger listening area.

Nice looking and fairly heavy. Well rounded sound for the most part. Pair nicely with the 570, 530 and 520c. Makes for a decent home theater experience.

I bought these speakers 2 weeks ago, great sound. You can hear all the details in the music. All frequencies are there specially the midrange.

I really wasn't sure if this would be worth the price but let me tell you they definitely are. They sound so good I want to listen to all my favorite songs again.

I’m not an official audiophile but I sure do enjoy watching my movies with great sound and these JBL 580’s made me very happy. I got them on a great sale, otherwise would never be able to afford these fancy speakers. JBL makes some great products and these will not let you down.

Imaging monsters!

These speakers are simply amazing for the price. They are a very revealing speaker. You will notice poorly recorded and or mixed music and poor electronics. With a great recording they are simply beautiful! I'm powering them with a BTL Tripath amp delivering 540 watts per channel. The sound stage and imaging are amazing, they have a flawless phantom center image as well. The bass is tight and quite deep, the mids and highs are fantastic, thank that crossover frequency for that. Are there better, I'm sure, but not at this price! Amazing job JBL!
