Simply the 580 provide an exceptional sound, I am extremely happy with them. The whole range of the series 5 is the best to my understanding quality price. I hope that JBL does not discontinue them, because I think that outside of them would be below many brands like Klipsch, since their new lines of speakers are not even remotely at the sound quality of 590 and 580 (I have both)

Fantastic speakers

I have owned a lot of speakers, but I can't honestly say I have found more value in almost anything else. These speakers are tremendous for the price. You're not gonna get the high end finish on the MDF, but beyond that, you get good quality components, a nice compression driver and a sleek modern industrial design. I pair them with a HSU HC-1 center and HB-1 rears and a VTF-15 sub. It works great.

I purchased a pair of these towers two years ago. They are broken in, and sound amazing. They're more power-hungry than their counterparts, but if you've got the amp it's worth it. These speakers are not cheap per se, but you will not get sound like this, at this price point, with any other brand.
I would recommend this to a friend!
