Hinge breaks easily

The knobs that secure the hinge break apart very easily. I only was able to use it one time and then the thing starts to fall apart. On the upside, it does make pretty good waffles. Really wish the plates were removeable though.

Problem with hinges

Purchased this waffle maker right before Christmas. It worked fine. When we went to use it the second time the upper lid would not stay up. Accused our daughter of not putting it away properly. Purchased a second one. Used it one time. My husband happened to notice when he went to clean it that the knobs connecting the lid to the base melted/or broke off from the heat. Needless to say, my daughter is off the hook. There is a problem with the knobs that attach the lid to the base.

Factory defect on hinge hardware.

Do not purchase this appliance due to defective hinge hardware. More than 3 people have had issues with these parts. They break under normal use and could possibly cause injury. These parts should be recalled immediately! These parts are no where near the quality expected and normallly found in Black & Decker products. If you have one these return it to the store you bought it from.

What a nice looking appliance.
The bad thing is hinge fell a part. This product should have been removed from the shelves. Having a hard time finding replacement parts. DO NOT BUY.

Not Useable

Got this waffle maker for Christmas and went to use it for the first time this morning (Valentines Day). The elements under the cooking plates would not heat up past a "mild warm to the touch", even after leaving it plugged in before cooking for 30 minutes . The warming light would never stay on, as per the instruction booklet. Ruined morning brunch with the family.

Does not make waffles crisp

I bought one years ago. Loved it. Iy unfortunately broke (hinges). I repurchased it 2 weeks ago and there is no comparison. It is not heating up well. The waffles get dark but are like a pancake and breaks. I'm really disappointed.

Good and bad

We have 2 WMB500 Belgian Waffle Makers. The first one we bought, after a few uses the plastic hinge pivots broke and the waffle maker just doesn't make waffles that easily now. We bought another WMB500, I can make 2-3 waffles then the waffles stick and tear apart when we try to open the top. I have used non-stick spray to finish making the waffles needed. If I could get new hinge pivots the first waffle maker would be good (it did not stick and tear the waffles).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible. Don't Waste Your Money

Bought the waffle maker and conditioned as it said. The bottom ALWAYS sticks. Ive tried 6 times and I re-conditioned twice. Don't waste your money unless you consider non-stick as everything sticks. The top did not have the same issues
