Don't Bother if your door has a deadbolt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After an unfortunate lock out event, I ordered this handle set to prevent such problems in the future and as a nice add on to my Ring system. However what I discovered during installation is that if you have a deadbolt, it won't work. Given the age of my home (100+) I though it may have just been the way this door was installed so I proceeded to measure the doors in my newer addition, the spacing between handle and deadbolt is the same across 4 exterior doors. Unless you have a door with a custom spacing between handle and deadbolt don't waste you money on this. The worst part is, the main body fits without issue, it is the way the cover arches up that makes it too large to fit. A cosmetic design choice renders it useless. Well why not just get a electronic deadbolt you may ask, well that won't help you when your child locks the handle and closes the door while your keys are inside, the event that lead to the purchase.

I have owned this lockset for almost two years. I have changed the batteries just once. It uses the SmartKey re-key technology as a quick and easy way to rekey the lockset without replacing the cylinder. The outside levers can be locked or unlocked by key or by using the keypad. I also like that I can turn features on and off using the dip switches to conserve battery life. The Z-wave enables me to unlock and lock using my Android phone (It requires the Mi Casa Verde VeraLite Home Controller). I am glad I purchased this lockset because of the form, function and security features. Note: All of my entry locks are Kwikset SmartKey, so I can rekey and I like the BumpGuard to prevent lock bumping.

Installed easily, though a couple of spots on the install documentation could have been a bit more clear. Once installed and connected to my z-wave network, it's worked great!

Best lock ever!

I love having these locks. They look great and I never have to have house keys on me. Because they are connected to my Zwave home network I can remotely check if they are locked and lock or unlock them as needed and get alerts if they are changed or tampered with. Have given several out to friends and family as gifts. Would definitely recommend.

I've installed these on both my hose and detached garage by building out the mesh network. Now I can verify that the doors are locked or open the remotely when the weather is bad so no more fumbling with keys. Either use your cell phone or use the lighted keypad. Slick.
