Disappointment

The whole point of the Defender is FULL device protection, but that's not what you're getting without a screen protector. At the very least there should have been one included in the box. It also should be made more clear that this case does not have a screen protector. There are way better cases, but the whole reason for getting this one was the screen protection as well.

Alpha Glass Disaster

I am amazed that Otterbox claims that the Alpha Glass screen protector "works seamlessly" with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Really??? The screen protector does not sit flush with the screen, and one literally has to mash down---and mash down HARD---in order to interact with the S8 screen once the Alpha Glass is installed. Bottom line: the screen protector that doesn't even come with the Defender is a waste of money and a good way to instantly hate using your S8. Don't buy it!!!

I'm in construction, I have dropped my phone off of buildings, kicked it out of trucks on to pavement. and they have come out of the case as if they had just been bought. they warranty is great, the few times I have tore the rubber outer shell or broke the clip, a no questions asked replacment is on its way. the only thing with this new s8 is the fact that there is no screen protector. after time on prior boxes the built in screen would get scrached and i'd pop it out and glue on an aftermarket. but right out of the box i dont like that there is no protection at all.
all in all great product, and you have a customer for life....

Highly upset!

I just got my otterbox in today for the galaxy s8 and I am highly upset!! It has no screen protector! I went and reviewed the site and it doesn't say anywhere that there is not a build in screen protector. I loved otterbox but after this I'm not so impressed.

I used to be a hard core advocate of the Otterbox, but this case is making me reconsider. It doesn't come with screen protection, the buttons are difficult to push, and the outer skin doesn't stay on tight to the plastic shell. To add insult to injury, I had to purchase alpha glass separately at the advice of the Otterbox rep and the case, which is supposed to be compatible with it, is causing it to unstick from the phone screen. This case needs to be overhauled.

NO SCREEN PROTECTOR!!!

I just received my Defender Series today and it doesn't have a screen protector at all. This case leaves the screen of the phone completely exposed, it makes the case worthless. The point of having the screen protector on the defender series is that it protects the screen when the phone is dropped and the screen protector doesn't break neither. The glass screen protector breaks depending on how you drop the phone. You'll always have to replace the glass screen protector...

not what i was expecting

It is a small case but no screen protection. If you are not going to make it part of the case the screen protector should come inside of the box. I am an otter box fan for 10 years and this is best and worst defender case at the same time. I might as well get the commuter case cheaper with similar protection.
