I really like this product. I've been getting the same product for 5 years and this was going to be my third time getting the plum color outer rubber part with the pink inner plastic part. I had to sadly settle for purple rubber and black plastic. It's just really unfortunate that they are discontinuing the product and all the colors. I feel as though it is because people are constantly getting the next generation of phone which mean there is a less demand for the older product but it's unfortunate that we don't get the option of buying the product but it just takes a bit longer to get the product because it would have to be pulled out of an archived mold or something like that. Any way with this product being discontinued I guess I'll just have to find another place that offers older models cause my phone is no where near dying soon. Especially through it breaking cause I managed to get a new case so it's going to last at least another few years. Still sad to see this product go though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I find the case incredibly durable. I love the fact I can grip my phone and not have it slide around in my hands. This is my first phone+case, so I have nothing to compare it to. If there was another phone, another time, Otterbox is Queen!

thanks for the heads up from other reviews, I was just about to buy a defender series for my new s8plus but since it dosnt come with the screen protector I will be getting a different case. I loved my other otter box case but with no screen protector its time to move on.

I have used otterbox cases for all my phones and love them, however the case for the new galaxy s8 not having a screen protector built in like the previous cases for the galaxy s7 was a little shocking to me. I would think that with newer cases that they would get better,or at least stay the same, not go backwards by not protecting the screen.

Same price, lacking screen protection.

If you are going to charge the same price as previous defender series cases you should include screen protection, like previous defender cases. I find it crazy that I paid full price for the case and you expect me to shell out another $50+ for screen protection. That was the only reason I went with a defender case to begin with. You are basically selling a commuter case for more money.
