The case is great - glass broke within 2 hours of installation - on the first drop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased my Otterbox for Samsung Galaxy S8+ with the alpha glass after getting mynew phone. I had had an Otterbox with built in screen protector for my Samsung Galaxy S4, several years ago and that phone still looked like new when I took it out of the case! So, knew I wanted that level of protection again for my investment! The alpha glass reviews - left me with mixed feelings about spending that much, but I decided I would give it a try. The original ordered alpha glass cracked when I put the case on. :( But, I called Otterbox and they were great in their support and service and immediately sent me a new one and sent video instructions to watch. The most important thing seems to be getting the edges aligned really well, because the case snaps down and over the glass and I think maybe the alignment was slightly off, causing it to fracture from case pressure on the edge. The 2nd alpha glass screen protector arrived in about 5 days. I have installed it with no issue and it works great! Hard to tell it is even there. Phone response still great. Happy so far! Phones are too expensive not to protect well, and Otterbox is the best in my opinion! :)

I think due to the angle of the screen, the protector doesn't hold to well. I put the protector on my phone and it held tight for a few days, then one day I went to wipe off the protector only for it to begin to slide up and down on my phone. I gave it a hard push down and so far have not had any problems since.

I bought the combo alpha glass and defender case (as advertised) and the case doesn't fit together properly when the glass is on the screen. Still works but some impairment to touch screen.
