To pair your iPhone to the SmartCode 888 Z-Wave lock, a hub is required. Here are some examples of Z-Wave compatible hubs: SmartThings hub, Wink, Honeywell, Vera, Vivint, or Ring Alarm System. Once connected to one of these systems, you can use the lock via an app on your iPhone. For one-on-one troubleshooting support, please call our lock experts at 1-800-327-LOCK (5625).

Another level of added security to my home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with this electronic deadbolt. We installed this on our exterior basement door which we often use. This lock was fairly easy to install following the instructions. It actually works with or without a smart home hub. We did not have an existing deadbolt, but when installing, the enclosed adapter ring helped to get a perfect fit. The five button touch pad is LED illuminated, and you can preset codes from 4 to 8 digits. I love the one button touch lock when you enter or exit. I also like that I can control the system from my phone. I recommend this for anyone who is looking for a safe, easy to use keyless deadbolt lock.

I purchased my SmartCode 888 one month ago and installed it myself. I had to use the lock to input codes (vs. my phone) but once I figured out how to do so I was off to the races (easy).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not work at all

I bought the lock to replace a previous kwikset but hoping to connect it too my alexa. After 2 hours of following the directions given on paper and troubleshooting from the web sight the lock did nothing but continuously show a solid red light. I reset it several times as well as the resetting the handing procedure and it still would not move passed a solid red light. Strongly encourage not using this lock. The set up directions are not easy to follow for the automated aspect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're here to help! This can happen due to the lock's installation or door setup. To fix this, please follow the steps below: 1. Check that your door is properly aligned and that the door frame jamb hole is a full 1 inch deep and clear of debris for the latch to extend fully into the jamb hole. 2. Loosen the mounting screws a quarter turn and loosen the interior assembly screws a quarter turn. And when installing the interior assembly of the lock, please keep the deadbolt in the locked position. 3. Great quality keyless entry system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installing this Kwikset SmartCode 888 Electronic Deadbolt was easy. It took me less than 10 minutes using a screwdriver. I replaced my standard front door deadbolt with this one, & it’s much higher grade and looks nice. I love the SmartKey rekey feature. I just inserted the key that it came with, then the supplied rekey tool, then finally the key that I want to keep, and about a minute later I was done. The keyless entry is great, I punch in my code or unlock from my phone, so no more fumbling with keys. It’s nice to double check if the door is locked from the app when I’m in bed for the night or if I’m pulling out of the driveway. I can create multiple access codes, so if I need someone to watch my house, they just get a code & not a key, and I can de-activate it afterwards if necessary. It’s great quality and convenient. I would recommend it.
