Swan Driveway Alert Kit

I purchased the product to monitor when my indoor/outdoor cats want to come in at the back door. It’s great, no more constant checking when it’s cold out and after dark. Bought a second monitor to put down the driveway. I like that the unit is portable and all battery operated.

Love my unit had it a month or so and its better than I could have hoped try to find more motion sensors but can not seem to find them online or instore would love to expand its capabilities lol

Bought this to mount under a porch to notify us when someone approaches the front of the house.
Pros: Zero false alarms. Detects as required. Wireless range at 10 meters to reciever is excellent.
Cons: choice of alarm tones is confined to channel 3. Channels 1 and 2 are what can only be described as a sound effect for a prison breakout. The doorbell feature 'unlocks' a range of gentler alerts.
Volume: choice of alarming, ridiculously loud or audible through brick walls. Perhaps good for the hard of hearing or commercial premises, but unsuitable for domestic settings - i have without doubt voided the warranty by poking holes in the speaker, but it is now still audible over the tv or radio on the highest volume and enough to wake you from sleep on the lowest.

Red PIR light cannot be turned off. It illuminates the whole 'window' of the sensor. Not great for covert detection. May be a deterrent, but the sensor only slides down onto the mounting bracket, so can easily be removed by anyone that doesnt want to be detected.
Just about to go into the colder winter months so cannot comment on battery life at this stage.

Excellent Coverage, So glad I Installed It Over a Year Ago

I fastened the sensor to a 1-inch PVC pipe about the width of my upstairs window, and then fastened the other end of the pipe to the end of the window sill with 1 screw so I can swivel downward and vertical in use, and upward to where I can reach it, clean off dust, and change the batteries, which I have done only ONCE in over a year. I patiently angled it to "see" only my driveway from the second floor window; I know when the mailman comes, when anyone drives into the driveway, or exits a vehicle in the driveway, or walks across my driveway to my front door. The second floor window keeps it out of reach from the ground. I get alarms from deer passing through the yard at night, a warm cat or skunk, but I ignore it when I hear only one alarm event. So absolutely dependable and perfect for my needs! I bought a second paired unit just to have as a spare!

Driveway Alert

I LOVE this device. Absolutely Perfect for letting me know if anyone is around. I did not mount my inside alert because, I can take it with me to any room in my house. The sound is EXTREMELY LOUD so it is very reliable to hear also. OVER ALL AWESOME PRODUCT.

Beware of rabbits!

Alarm too loud. Sensor is a "cone" sensor that picks up anything moving through gateway, including rabbits at night! Instructions supplied with product not very precise and not inclusive of some essential Instructions such as how to pair with different channels. Has variety of chimes which can only be used with doorbell, which is not supplied. Detector recommended to be set up 2m high, so not suitable for regular farm gate
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
