A Uniquely Irritating Experience

This unit comes with a preset alarm tone that sounds like an air raid siren - it is selected by default.
The alternate tones are only available with an additional purchase of the 'door bell' unit (this thing will go off the whole time while you figure this out)
Eventually you will work out how to select one of 3 chimes (not 36 as the marketing suggests) but by that stage the motion sensor will have started to 'go blind' and function intermittently - and then stop working all together.
My unit operated fine for about 30 minutes.

How do I change the alert tone?

This alarm will certainly get your attention. All 3 sound levels are very loud. I also cannot change the alert tone. I looked at the updated manual but it did not help. I re-paired the sensor and receiver to channel 3 but it's still just as loud. There is nothing in the old or updated manual about how to change the alert tone. Can someone please tell me how to choose one of the other options?

Cant change alarm tone on the alert function. It has all these different tones available, but no way to change the tone from the high pitched alarm.

Ive been looking to buy a driveway alert ever since moving to a new home in a rural area. Our home sits on 6 acres, the house is situated on the back of the acreage away from the road. The driveway entry has fence on both sides and no gate, so anyone can drive on to the property with out us knowing. I was happy to see the swanns alarm at my local supply store. After purchase i immediately set the alarm up, and was impressed at the distance the motion detector picked up. It was just outside of the recommended range. But still a very strong signal. I couldn't wait to get my first alert so i had my son sneak up on the motion sensor from different angles. The alarm was Extremely Loud and quite annoying! There's several different bells, tones, beeps etc. But apparently none of them work for the driveway alert. I fiddled for hours trying to change alert and turn volume down with no luck. Finally after reading some online reviews, I figured out the problem, you cant change alerts, only one annoying loud alarm that will wake everydog in the area when it goes off! That was a minor problem after a day of false alarms, i moved the sensor so no trees, bushes, shadows, sunlight or animal activity might be. Still this thing would go off for no reason. At night when everyone in the housr is asleep, the alarm can cause serious heart failure or just shaking to the core from the high decibel level! After a night of false alarms i just turned sound off and went by the light, which kinda defeats the whole purpose.it finally got to the point it just continuously false alarmed. To the point it was worthless for what it was intended. It was a waste of time and money, very pleased it didn't cost more than it did. It now sits in a drawer. This was all accomplished in lesd than a weeks time!

If you can't hear this is for you

The 3 stars are generous. If it's made for people with poor hearing then ok. Its ridiculously loud on the lowest setting. My tone doesn't seem to want to change either which makes it stuck on the car alarm. How about a simple beep?

Far too loud, and the "burglar alarm" sound is absolutely obnoxious for something that goes off every time you have a guest

How do you change the chime
