Haven't Even Begun to Use All the Features

Bought this a few months ago, and we've barely scratched the surface of what it can do. I've always preferred gas cooktops to electric because of the control that it gives, but that wasn't an option in our new house, so we decided to bite the bullet and go for an induction cooktop. It took some getting used to, since there's no flame to see and we didn't know how to calibrate the available settings to what we were used to, but we're getting the hang of it now. Love the ability to boil water rapidly, and the controls are pretty precise. Not having a hot cooktop is nice, too. As far as the oven is concerned, we've only used it for broiling so far, and it does a good job at that. Haven't done anything with the convection features or any of the fancier features, so can't comment on those yet. Bottom line is that, I'd still prefer to have a gas cooktop, but, compared to standard electric cooktops, this was definitely the right choice for us.

I've been using my new GE Induction slide in range for about a weeks now. It's wonderful! I've had electric ceramic top rages for 30 year and my complaint has always been how long it took to warm up...Induction takes care of that. It truly does heat instantly. And I still get that easy clean-up I've always had with the ceramic top range.I would definitely recommend this range to a friend.

Simpler than I Thought

I was a bit concerned about the complexities of an induction range. I was so off base. The controls are intuitive and it is easy to figure out. I just moved and had a gas stove at the old house. Now I had no choice but a coil electric and I hated it. This induction range has changed all that. It is as good as if not better than my gas stove! The responsiveness is incredible! The convection oven is also wonderful. I had to go out and buy new cookware ( early holiday gift) but it was worth the investment. I just love this range!

Incredibly responsive

This induction range is incredibly responsive to changes in temperature, and the oven heats quickly and accurately. Although I am very happy with the product, I wish I had known that it makes a rather loud buzzing/ticking sound while heating, on some burners more than others. I do wish this were minimized.

I love how easy it is to clean the stove top and how well the induction cooktop cooks. The oven cooks foods fantastic, I finally enjoy cooking.

Great range

Bought two months ago and simply enjoy it. Induction is fast and great response to temperature changes, better than gas. Oven is fantastic too, very even heat and fast. Overall easy to keep clean, a step up from our previous gas range.

Brand new first impressions

Replaced a 20 yearr old slide in with convection and coil heating elements. Both my wife and I are sloppy cooks. So much easier to clean up, no more hard scrubbing to remove burnt on food. Ok maybe a few streaks from wiping off spilled food and a few finger prints on the control panel. Next time will try a microfiber towel. Burner layout is just right for our cooking habits, the burner outline is easy to see. Controls - really easy to use and very intuitive. Cook top temperature control very responsive, head still spinning over that. Noise levels - convection fan much more quiet than I expected. Rear exhaust vent fan hardly noticeable. Installation in an island more challenging than other models without the rear vent, but then you don't have the vent blowing on you while cooking. Was faced with an interesting trade, do I buy one of the few units with just a flat glass cook top, i.e. no rear vent projection but potentially lower reliability or serviceability issues or a less clean island install but likely better reliability/serviceability. Obviously, based on other reviews, chose the later. We both like not having the burner controls as part of the glass cook top. You can touch the cook top while cooking everywhere except right near where the pan sits, that is cool (pun intended). Would feel comfortable teaching grand kids how to cook on this stove. Had to buy new pots and pans, no big deal, knew it was required and to be honest we were long over do for new ones. The roller bearing rack can be placed in any oven rack position and the racks are porcelain coated making oven cleaning more convenient. Did do a burn in with the oven to remove manufacturing oils. Had to open doors and windows due to the smell; may have to do that a few more times. Manual could be improved by adding a sentence that prior to baking, manufacturing oils need to be burnt off instead of in a troubleshooting note. Timer Chime - it is much to soft. A broiler pan is Not included. Will try to remember to update later.
