Response from geappliances.comBy Jill at GE , GE Appliances, July 12, 2016
Hi Kabbb,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your range. We're sorry for any inconvenience and we're happy to help. Although magnetic cookware is needed with induction cooking, once you have the right pans, induction cooking is a fast, efficient and safer way to cook. Bent frame

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and I was excited to have new GE appliances. Unfortunately the range came damaged. With a bent frame the warming drawer does not close completely and it does not fit correctly in the space specifically designed for the appliance.

Looks good, smells bad

As many have mentioned, the smell from using the new oven is horrible. I can't help but think my family and I have been exposed to serious toxic fumes. I didn't want to run a self clean cycle, but that is what helped the fumes to finally subside. Thank goodness I purchased it in the cooler months, as I can't imagine having all our windows and doors open in the heat and humidity of the Florida summer. The eye-burning, sickening fumes would have been that much worse. I can't stress enough how bad it was. It totally overshadows how happy I am with induction cooking although I am still getting used to it.

Excited about trying to learn how to cook with this induction stove. Unfortunately, one of the burner was not working at installation and service man placed a new unit on order.

Love the cooktop, but why isn't a double oven available as it is with the conventional cooktop?

Faster Than Fast

I am so excited about this stove after a few short months of usage. For most o my adult life (I'm nearly 70) I've had electric stoves. 15 years ago we bought our first RV and I discovered cooking with gas which I have LOVED. We moved last year and this new home had an electric stove. Going back in time was not a happy experience. Everything in the house is electric thus a gas stove was not an option. I began researching induction stoves and decided there was nothing to lose.
It has been an amazing experience. I LOVE it! The speed of heating is unbelievable. No more waiting for a pot of water to boil. And, now that summer is here, I find that the kitchen doesn't heat up from the cooktop.
The warming area on the cooktop is slow but, I must remember it is electric, not induction. The warming drawer is tops, so I just use that instead.
The gas cooktops were always a nuisance to clean. With this cooktop, a quick wipedown with a hot, wet dishcloth and polish dry with a dishtowel and it gleams.
I HIGHLY recommend this stove.

GE Induction slide-in range

Works great. Like the power boil, water comes to full boil within a few minutes. Oven bakes much better and faster than our old stove. Sliding oven rack makes it safe and easy to put and take food into and out of oven. Would have given it 5 stars except warmer drawer seems a bit flimsy.
