You will love the way this looks in your kitchen

*A thing of beauty to look at in the kitchen.
*touch controls are sensitive but can lock them out when cleaning
*count down timer and cook timer are in hours and minutes no seconds, so when programing you need to keep this in mind. (So when programing if you want to say timer for 20 minutes, you need to push 0020 then start)
*Cook timer only starts when the temperature of the oven has reached it's max temp that you select.
* I know they say to avoid talking about customer service in this review, but I just want to mention that I needed clarification on how to operate the controls and called GE CS and got a live person right away who happily and patiently walked me thru the entire operation. I believe that is a huge plus for someone making such a large purchase to know that the CS is very good.
*Did I mention that it is beautiful to look at in the kitchen?! LOL

Love this range

I spent months without a working oven while I researched reviews and features to find its replacement. My previous range was at least 45 years old. I'm not sure this one will have the longevity of its predecessor but so far I love it! It looks great and I love the strength and range of the burners. I was concerned about the accessibility of the buttons around my 2 and 4 year old, but it hasn't been an issue at all. Even when I don't use the lock, the position of the panel is angled up enough that it isn't an automatic draw for little ones.

We like the stoves appearance as well as the amount of burners. Cleaning is a little more difficult, but wouldn't keep me from buying the stove

Love my Cafe range!

Purchased this 6 months ago and I love the fast boiling and baking. The temps are easy to adjust on the burners. The convection oven cuts baking time about 20 % and bakes evenly. The oven is so wide, I can fit two large baking dishes side by side and they cook evenly. The stainless is easy to clean and loooks great!!

Disappointing warming drawer feature
on December 8, 2014

Although this is a quality oven, a key reason I bought it was for the warming drawer feature. Unfortunately, there is an automatic shutoff after 3 hours. Had I known this I would not have bought this oven. There is no way to override this.

Nice Range

We have had the range 3 weeks and seems very nice. All of the burners really pump out the heat, actually possibly too much, it is hard to simmer on any of the burners. We had to convert our range to LP (Propane) which was slightly tricky. It is like playing the game operation getting the old ones out and the new ones in thru the cooktop, thought the other adjustments were quite easy. I ended up having to do the cook top thru the small openings with tweezers after dropping a few of the orifices and having to use them to get them out, this was much easier to do on my old GE Profile Range that I replaced. Also, the "LFC" or left front center orifice (this burner has 4) that came with the unit did not fit as it was smaller than the natural gas one I removed. I quadruple checked the label against the labeling of the orifices, and finally determined I did not receive what I needed. After a few emails and about 2 weeks GE mailed me a new conversion kit which had the correct LFC orifice (they were labeled the same but the second one was noticeably larger on the threaded end). Having this small center burner also solved our simmering issue, though this is the only burner that doesn't keep a quart of water boiling on low.

I am happy to have a gas appliance as I was using electric but the stovetop is hard to keep clean, my griddle has residue that won't come off and the lining in my stove has a spill that is cooked on and we are unable to get it clean

back exhaust gets too hot
on June 1, 2015

Back exhaust far too hot for interior walls- I had to add heat resistant backsplash that I did not want for safety. Unit sticks out further than prior models and this was a problem in my kitchen fr clearance, that contractor did not catch. Warming drawer does not warm as expected-and light stopped working in oven almost immediately.
