Great stove

I purchased this gas stove because I just got gas in my area and I liked the features on the stove. After using this for 2 months, I am very happy I made this decision.

I love how this product cooks our food but it is an absolute nightmare to clean. The first time I used the front right oversized burner to cook a large pot of chili.....I dripped a little bit of the chili on the stove top. It ate right through the finish in a matter of minutes. I have also dripped small amounts of food on the aluminum rims surounding the burners. This has immediately stained the rims and will not wash off. This stove is to be cleaned with water only. This only works if I turn the burners off and remove my pots and pans and remove the grates while still hot and wipe down the food in the middle of my cooking process. If I wait and use even a mild cleaning product.....it removes the finish. I would not purchase this stove again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features and attractive look

This is my first gas range. Have had GE Profile appliances since early 90's and they are very reliable. This range look great and cooks great. The burners' varying sizes fit all cooking needs and the cavity of the stove is big. My husband is an engineer and is very impressed with the design and build of the appliance

Top Burners Don't Light

We have had the stove for about 3 months and 4 service calls, by GE contracted repair service and the top burners are difficult or impossible to ignite. The repair folks admited the knew next to nothing about gas ranges and it showed. Had to contact customer relations in order to schedule a "real" GE repair person. Either the repair men didn't know what the were doing or the ignitor design is faulty, hopefully we'll find out soon when the REAL GE repair person shows up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the range

I love this range, but it could be improved. There is no temperature selection for the broil function. You only get high and low. Also when you begin baking something it would be helpful if there was a smaller clock display on the panel showing the time you started. The range has a nice presence in the kitchen however, the side panels are really thin. You have to be careful when moving it to clean underneath it, because it will dent easily. Other than that it's great and I love it!!

Okay range and oven

I have had this oven for 5 months now, while overall it is an adequate oven and it will eventually get the job done, I do have two issues that reflect my 2-star rating. First, one of my five burners has an intermittent issue of not lighting without the aid of a match, which it has been doing ever since the oven was new out of the box. Some days it works and other days not. Secondly, when the oven "beeps" indicating it is ready for baking,- it still needs an extra 15-30 minutes to get up to full temperature. To insure that my gas oven was working properly I did have a GE tech come out. Of course on that day the burner was lighting perfectly, so that issue could not be addressed. As for the oven's delay in reaching full temp I learned that this was actually not a problem and that my oven was operating properly. In conclusion, I am not 100% happy. I want a burner that works every time I turn it on, not one with a mind of its own. And lastly, it would be my advice to anyone purchasing this oven to also purchase a top-grade oven thermometer to insure that you are baking at the proper temperature.

Got this stove a week ago, and have already used the oven and the griddle. Everything has worked wonderfully. I like the functionality of the burner knobs, and the summer burner is a great tool.
