Sleek Design and Great Features

Recently moved into a new construction town home with this unit. We have been using it almost every day for 3 weeks now and find it to be perfect for our contemporary design with high-end features. The multiple burner sizes and warming burner are ideal for our use. The icing on the cake (pun intended) is the plugin thermometer. I don't know that I would have looked for this feature but now that I have used it I have to have it. The complete appliance is fun and easy to use.

The installation was difficult because:
1. Height had to be adjusted before installation and it required very precise measure--ments down to 1/32".
2.The rear vent cover should have been designed to fit above the counter top instead of within the cut out. As it is the cut out hole is larger than the vent cover leaving a gap.

Great range

I have been shopping for a new range for over a year. This one has everything I wanted and more. The cooktop arrangement is perfect and easy to clean. The oven bakes evenly and true to temperature settings. GE got it right with this one!

Design flaws take away from performance

This is the third GE profile slide in electric range we have purchased. (Three moves and remodels over 15 years.) So obviously we are happy with the brand in and of itself. My first two had the knobs in front and the glass cooktop that covered the entire top (no heat vent and no trim around the knob panel.) This most recent version purchased in 2013 had a digital display which I thought would provide more precise adjustments to stovetop burners, and it does do that. This model looks more updated and modern, but the two features I mentioned seriously detract from the functionality of the cooktop. The rear vent is not only raised, but curved, and that causes a gap along the wall. The vent also puts out a prodigious amount of steam while cooking, which drips down the backsplash. The two raised trim pieces get scratched easily from cookie sheets or moving pans around. lastly, the digital controls are extremely sensitive, and as I am short, when I lean over the stove to either clean it or get something off the back I hit them and they turn on/off. I regret getting the warming drawer because I don't use that feature, but that is not a product flaw. While I would still recommend the GE Profile slide in range, I would recommend the version with knobs and the larger flat cooktop that extends from back to front and looks more built in. It is also significantly less expensive than this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice layout

I am very detailed and spent a lot of time looking for the right range for the new kitchen. The layout of the burners and overall appearance is great. One disadvantage is the touch screen which is turned on easily. There is a key lock which we now use regularly.

I bought this range a few weeks ago had a GE range for 20 years upgraded to this one it's all they say con the peeper for the oven is not loud enough even on the hi setting

We installed this beautiful 5 burner, convection oven range in our new kitchen island and we couldn't be happier with it. The elements are fast heating and the easy touch controls make it so simple to operate (even my husband can do it).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
