Fun toy but paint chips

My 2 year old daughter loves to play with this set. She intentionally pulls it out and "cuts" the fruit everyday since she received it a month ago. However, within a couple uses, the paint began to chip along the middle of the fruit. Obviously, as a 2 year old, her precision isn't 100% and the knife rubs against the surface as she's trying to "cut" the fruits in half, but I'm surprised they're not more durable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gave this to our grandson when he turned 2 and he loved it. He has to do "cutting" as soon as he gets up in the morning and before he goes to bed at night. We decided to get this for him because mom and dad bought a mini kitchen set for him and we thought this would go great with it, we were right!
