We bought this for my son and he loved it. Left it at the cottage for a couple weeks and the orange had a couple spots that swelled out and the paint chipped off. It was never dropped or mistreated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun toy but paint chips

My 2 year old daughter loves to play with this set. She intentionally pulls it out and "cuts" the fruit everyday since she received it a month ago. However, within a couple uses, the paint began to chip along the middle of the fruit. Obviously, as a 2 year old, her precision isn't 100% and the knife rubs against the surface as she's trying to "cut" the fruits in half, but I'm surprised they're not more durable.
I would recommend this to a friend!
