I bought this 2 months ago. Already out and no service people in the are to fix it. Supervisor refuses to come to the phone. Grill is upside down so cleaning filter is a royal pain. Still waiting for someone to help with this piece of garbage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second unit I purchased, the first one quit working after less than six years of service. To be fair though, it sat outside for two years before being installed, which is why I decided to try another one. There was also the fact that it was 120 degrees outside the day it decided to quit working and I needed something quick that would fit the existing opening.
The old one always left a slight oily plastic smell in the air whenever just the fan was running. It's not strong enough to smell unless you leave the house and come back in. Was hoping it was caused by sitting outside for a time but, unfortunately, the new one does the same thing.
That being said, it does do a great job of cooling my 760 square foot house. I was pleasantly surprised that it's able to get the cool air to all rooms, keeping them comfortable even in 120 degree temps. The remote is a great feature since I have the unit installed high on a wall. The different fan speeds and clean filter light are nice too.
Overall a great unit if I could just figure out how to stop it from smelling.

Nice unit for the money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Built a shop in my backyard and this is perfect unit for cooling so far. Have not tried the heat but have no doubt it will do the job. The AC keeps the temp at a constant level all the time. So far its been great.
