[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I have a house that's master bedroom is quite generous because of an addition a former owner added. As the addition was added in the 60's, less was know about insulation. Because of this, during the summer months, heat creeps through the structure and smothers us at 2 am. This independent unit has helped the problem dramatically. We didn't have to add a window or drain line. Sound definitely comes from the device. Given the situation, I can adapt to the sound better than the heat. Very pleased!

Needs hard start capacitor

This air conditioner must be plugged into a grounded 60Hz, 120 VAC grounded outlet protected by a 15 AMP time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. ^Daphane

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 2 of these and they just don't cool enough. Only one remote works properly the other is hit and miss. We had to buy fans to put in front of the ac to spread the cool air throughout the room.
