UX Fail - sleep mode

What possible value could come from shutting off the unit after 8 hours in sleep mode? First, I bought this for my toddler, who sleeps for 12 hours, so the unit shut off unexpectedly 2/3 through the night. Second, even if this was in an adult human’s room, what value is there in shutting off automatically? Do adults prefer to get overheated when it is time to wake up? Must be this is the alarm-clock-by-heat technology.
UX fail, LG.
Also, this product is a nightmare to setup- none of the panels fit in my window and I had to stuff in multiple layers of foam adhesive. Truly. The larger one covered part of the opening for the diffuser and there was a 2+ inch gap with the small one. Don’t wait until it is hot to install this unit. It took me 1.5 hours.
Thankfully, it does cool the air, so $369 wasn’t a total waste.
