Dry mode issue
on May 18, 2020

I bought this appliance to dry and cool a room that I have. When I use this appliance in dry mode all that it seems to do is cool the room more than what the A/C unit does and not really dry out the room. When I ran the unit, the humidity seemed to rise more than the room originally was. Could some one please help me to understand how to use this function without cooling the room as it is only 70 degrees in the room without the unit on? For me, the manual does not really really explain too well how this function works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great way to Cool Garage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG 10,200 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is an amazing machine. I bought it to cool my garage to be able to paint and use my work bench this summer. I was able to complete many great projects in comfort! Outstanding product!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The air conditioner is easy to install, setup, and begin using. It works very well at maintaining the desired temperature. It may take a little too long to cool my room down, but I live in an extremely hot area, so I don't blame the machine for this.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works ok thought it would cool better room was still not cooled off after a few hours of turning it on
I bought this when my central air went out for the weekend, it took a little bit to get the exhaust hooked to the window. Turned it on and it was putting 58deg at the vent. Outside tempetures were in the 90's and it kept a 12x13 room at 76deg for 2 1/2 days. I thought would cool the one room cooler but was comfortable. I like the fact that it is also a dehumidifier.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought unit few months ago and it worked flawlessly.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality

Garbage

I bought this unit in July of 2019. We used it for 2 months before we stored it away for the winter. Upon its first use this Summer (2020) it would only work in 15 minute intervals before displaying the E5 Error (water reservoir is full) which it can't possibly be after 15 minutes of use. When I tilted the unit to drain it the plastic drain housing partially broke. There's no protection for the drain? I glued it back together but the machine will only work for 15 minutes before showing the E5 error (water reservoir is full). Before it broke, I was not impressed with its ability to cool. It constantly leaked on the floor. The exhaust hose is so hot it is counter productive to the cooling process. And it's not really portable, it just has wheels. Do Not Purchase unless you like disappointment.

Basic design flaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The design of a one hose portable A/C units requires room air to be drawn in to the unit and hot air is expelled out the window. This creates a vacuum in the room which draws hot air into the house through any cracks or imperfect seals. If I ever buy a portable A/C again, it will be the 2 hose variety. I have always enjoyed the quality of LG products, but this one, though it is mechanically sound, should never have been made.
