Best Window AC Ever!

Considering buying another for my other room!

Powerful, great online connection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit easily keeps my 500 sf upstairs cool on 90 degree days, and I love that I can control it from my phone. It's also a lot better looking than the average window unit, which is great given that I have it in a visible location. My one complaint - the one that cost the unit a star -- is that it is relatively noisy. I have another, 850 BTU Frigidaire downstairs that cools like monster and is markedly quieter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purposely waited a month before writing this review so I could familiarize myself with the abundant features on this unit.
Firstly, lets talk about the WIFI and the Fridigaire software. The connectivity of the unit is excellent, and I have no problems connecting to the unit when I am at home or away from home in a hotpsot. The Frigidaire Smart Appliance software that I downloaded from the Google Play store is simple and effective, not overdone. I use the program feature to program temperature, times, etc...This ensures that my room is comfortable when I go to bed and when I am not in the room based upon the program will raise the temperature to a programmed set point, a nice reliable feature.
The remote is simple to use and I keep it bedside, I just wish that there was a backlight feature on the remote so when I use it at night I could see the buttons.
Installation of the unit is simple and straight forward and identical to other air conditioners. The nice feature in addition to the accordion sides are the white insulation panels, These panels slide over the accordion side panels to increase insulation and give installation a clean finished look, very nice. A nice and unusual feature are the control buttons on the head unit. The buttons are incorporated into the casement of the unit and are touch sensitive, again a nice feature and real sleek looking. The rounded edge metal grill has a sleek european design and looks nice. But I wonder if dings will appear over time from handling. But again only time will tell.
Finally lets talk about cooling. as with ANY air conditioner it is critical to get the right size air conditioner to match the size of the room it will be located. I spent the proper amount of time and did a perfect job in matching the room size to the BTU's of this unit. Too many BTU's and the room will cool and the compressor will turn off which is normal. But the unit will not remove enough moisture because the compressor would turn off too soon. Leaving the room cool and slightly damp. This unit cools and removes the proper amount of moisture very nicely in my bedroom. The only possible complaint would be is this unit is slightly more noisy than comparable units. I was able to quantify this by using a Sound Pressure Level meter. This unit when running the fan on high and the compressor cooloing, generates a SPL of 68 db from three feet away while a comparably sized competitor generates ~60 db of noise from three feet away. The higher SPL of this Frigidaire is noticeable and I believe the increased "noise" is from the fan and NOT the compressor. Obviously is the air conditioner is located further away than the three feet the SPL will drop, it all depends where you place the unit.
Overall the unit cools nicely, is stylish, has usable added features that other air conditioners do not offer. But at a slightly higher price point and higher noise levels.

Solid AC, even without the perks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit that I bought this based on the ability to control the AC remotely. That being said, the AC is solid on its own. The lights go out after a setting is made, making your room totally dark. The filter is really durable and easy to clean. The unit is quiet enough for an AC, so no complaints there. The app took a little work to get set up, but once I did it's easy to work. Really enjoy the purchase!

Looks great, decent performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the sleek look. As far as window A/C units go, I think this takes the prize for design. The app has also worked well for me and it's really nice to have the ability to control the temperature when you're not in the house, or even from the couch! Because the vents point up, I think it struggles to get the air further into the apartment. That feature also seems to help concentrate air around the A/C, so I think it may misread the actual temperature of the room. I find it also shows the actual temperature as a couple of degrees off from the set temperature. I haven't looked into this too much yet, but I would think it would be working to try and achieve the specified temperature. Overall, a good purchase.
