My 14 year old Amana started leaking water somewhere under the unit.I did a lot of research and picked this unit.I read about a lot of different units where some were noisy.I went to a local small dealer today, listened to the unit run, and picked this model.The unit was installed today and wow, it is very quiet, can hardly hear it.We like the way it is built inside.The main reason I went to a small dealer was so I could hear the unit in action.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the side-by-side, it is quiet

I bought mine several months ago and love it!! One thing I like the most is the fact I can open a door and see all that I have in either the refrig or freezer section. Never had a big unit like that that I can move with ease!!! much easier to clean under it. Being in my late, late 70's, that is important to be able to do things easily. Don't need another refrig/freezer, but am looking for a gas range with a storage drawer in the bottom and a dishwasher. ;=)

The good and the bad

We are very happy with the ice maker we elected to install with this unit. Our first ice maker, what a convience. Refrig side is a bit too narrow and takes some real planning to store things for easy access. We love the lights used in the refrig and the freezer. Our local dealer is great. Thayer Appliance in Ithaca, NY. Very professional and wonderful to deal with. No big box store for us when it comes to this type of purchase. On a less positive note. The frames surrounding the glass shelves are too thick. Easily an inch lost all around the shelving because the frame is raised up and prevents use of the shelves at the very edges. We would actually purchase replacement shelves if they were available and would solve this problem.

Save Food at Correct Temperatures

I am just learning to effectively use my first Side-by-Side Refrigerator. It is the perfect size for my kitchen and makes finding food easier than my previous Refrigerator /Freezer. Because it accurately holds the correct temperature, foods are always safe to cook.

Overall is a very good refrigerator, but disappointed in air circulation in refrigerator section. Some trouble with items freezing in back part of refrigerator section.

Water free doors

I bought this frig because it had no water or ice through the doors and no ice maker inside. The amount of space gained in the freezer is awesome.
