Great freezer section, fridge not so great

I wanted a side by side refrigerator without the water and ice feature in the door to maximize freezer space. This refrigerator has a great freezer section with a huge amount of space. However, the refrigerator section is not as spacious as I anticipated, and there are not enough grooves to space the shelves according to my needs. The door has many deep shelves so that is good. The interior LDE lighting is beautiful. The exterior has stainless steel handles for a great designer look. Overall, a good purchase.

Fantastic Deal, Exceeded My Needs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this while researching online. Some people don't like side by sides, but when they're large enough inside, they're amazing. I don't need ice or water through the door, so this was perfect. I found a floor model in great condition. The door shelves hold a ton of stuff. The deli drawer is perfect. I even like the way it lights up from dimness when I open the door. The freezer space is a standout. I knew what I wanted, but this exceeded expectations.

Nice refrigerator but....

the icemaker never worked. So the day after the new refrigerator was installed we had to call the dealer rep. We then had to schedule an apt. The repairman then came over to confirm that the icemaker was broken. We then had to wait for new parts to be ordered. We then had to schedule another appointment to get the new icemaker installed. It seems to work now, but it hasn't produced much ice yet. Might need another follow-up call. Whatever happened to quality control? What other parts fail that quickly too?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Since I didn't get the water/ice maker, I have lotsa room in the freezer. Also, goes well with existing white appliances which don't need replacing yet.

Only choice for side-by-side without built-in ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator-freezer seems to work fine. I chose this one because I wanted a side-by-side without an automatic ice maker, and it seems that Whirlpool is the only one that makes one.I do think it needs another shelf. In fact, I was able to take a shelf from my old non-functioning refrigerator and put it on the empty shelf ledge that is provided here. I also think there should be more adaptability in the top space, so that one would have a choice of where to put tall things, such as milk.Otherwise, I am happy with it. I would just like to have space to put things like milk lower down, if I want, and would like an additional shelf. I was able to add my own from another appliance - not an ideal solution. I gave it three stars for "features" for that reason - the shelf arrangement. One has no choice but the very top for milk and tall items, and needs another shelf down below.
