The cooktop I had before lasted many many years. I have the smoothtop but I prefer the old style with the electric elements. This requires a lot of work to keep it looking good. I have to be very very careful with it and that bothers me a lot. I would recommend it to someone who doesn't mind cleaning immediately after cooking.

I replaced a Miele 10 year old electric cook top

I prefer the knobs over the digital option. The coils heat evenly and quickly. All of my kitchen appliances are GE so I looked at GE first for the replacement.
The glass top cleans up easily.
The one little negative is that the knob numbers require a fair amount of light to be seen. They are silver. Bright white would be better for me.

Why do appliance makers make the middle back burner as the large? Fortunately this model has a hot medium right front so I don't have to reach so far over.
Warming should does not go above 150F, so red "hot" light does not ever turn on. It should be set at lower temp such as 125 F.
