An exciting new hobby!

To be able to learn about ourselves through our DNA is so fascinating, and a tool our ancestors were not privileged to have. 23andMe, with it's clarity, support, before, during and after the process is impressive. I feel more a part of my own family, since I now know more about its past, but feel part of the 23andMe family along with other users, in that though we may not be related, we have embarked on the same journey to discover more about ourselves, thus sharing the same experience. Most of us are curious, by nature. I have wanted to do this for several years, and finally I did. My son bought me the kit for Christmas, because he knew how meaningful it would be to me. Discovering, or confirming ethnicity is my favorite aspect. Knowing more exactly your ethnicity (along with a few surprises) satisfies this curiosity about our past to a great extent, makes you realize that, despite differences, we share the same humanity, instills empathy and enables us to be the best persons that WE can be, regardless of the heritage we descend from. Thank you for providing this service. I am looking forward to my ongoing association with, and interest in 23andMe.

Get DNA not medical

My husband bought me the DNA and Medical kit for $200, very happy with the DNA part but very disappointed in the medical. Not worth the extra $100

Once I sat down and spent some time reviewing the information, it was fascinating. To think that my DNA had traces of prehistoric humans was a real eye-opener.

Confusing

This turned out to be very frustrating and a waste of money. Never did tell us anything and not able to print it either to ask someone else to help figure it out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You are able to save and print an overview of all of your reports by clicking on the Reports tab at the top of your account homepage and then on the green Report Summary button. This summary provides brief descriptions of your results but does not provide detailed information that may be important for understanding your results.
For more detailed information, you can print each of your reports individually by clicking on the green Print button in the top right corner of each report.

Was very excited to get the results... was actually hoping for more "surprises"; however, there were several things in there that were pleasantly surprising! I love how we all have such a diverse background, the "sharing" feature is something that reminds me of Facebook and looking forward to linking up with more friends.
