Surprising and Fun!

My husband and I both used 23andMe. We were surprised that my husband had no Native American heritage. We discovered our ancestors were all from Northern Europe! Our maps could almost overlay each other! We have enjoyed this experience so much - we bought kits for both of our sets of parents.

Not worth the price

My results were nonconclusive. The results I was given that I "Most likely" had were all false.

Thank you for your feedback. Most human traits are complex, meaning they are not determined by a single factor. Even when we find genetic factors that have a large effect on a trait, they still explain only a portion of it. This means that we can only determine the likelihood of having that trait. That means there is still the chance of not having that trait.
Many other factors influence traits, including your ancestry, other genes, and other non-genetic factors. That’s why we also include a section in each report that talks about some of these other factors. The results are based only on specific genetic factors that we know about now, but our predictions may get better as we learn more.

Disappointed

It provides some nice to know information, but it is pretty inexact. I'm a guy with dark skin and black hair but the analysis of my DNA predicts that I have light skin and freckles. The data analysis notes that I could have blue, green or brown eyes. I think that would be a good guess for almost any average white guy even if his DNA profile was not known. They tell me my ancestors were northern Europeans. I didn't need to analyze my DNA to figure that out, although I have always been puzzled why I am so much darker than some would expect. The anticipation of learning something was fun, but the overall experience was a disappointment.
