missing DNA totals

I get announcements by e-mail that new DNA relatives have signed up with 23andMe, but the relative totals never change. The last announcement said 89 new relatives, but my total didn't change.

Differences in new and old version

I used to be a huge fan of 23andme prior to the recent update which took away many of the useful features that were informative and easy to access. I can no longer even see a summary of my inherited conditions or any of the corresponding variants. My friend recently bought 23andme and his results look much different than mine, allowing full access to health related data etc. When will 23andme return those features to existing customers.

I'm going to meet my sisters!

I bought a 23andme test several years ago, and eventually found many relatives, one a first cousin. I couldn't get her to respond, and so I stopped looking at 23andme as often. Fast forward to this past weekend, and a second cousin makes contact. He asked around the family for someone who might have put a child up for adoption, and I'll soon be meeting my sisters. Obviously, I'm very happy with 23andme.

Product is easy to use. Discovered a new cousin because they had their DNA done. He was adopted. Also a better understanding of how all of this connects one person to another. Traits, etc. Well done.

Insights are amazing

I love finding out more about myself and 23andme was the perfect opportunity for that. I started out interested in the ancestry findings but it was really interesting to find out all of the health information. The reports are super interesting and I even found out some important health risk information for myself. I have now bought kits for my friends and family and keep learning more. Love it.

I worked on my family tree for many years. However, since the inclusion of autosomal DNA I wouldn't want to ever be without it again. With 23andme the addition of health reports makes it a perfect choice in my opinion.

Her great grandmother and mine were sisters

She sent a sample from Australia to 23andme; I sent one from Connecticut. Analysis by 23andme revealed that we are related. Correspondence via 23andme’s website revealed that my great grandmother and hers came from villages 12 km apart in Czechoslovakia. It is likely that they were sisters. My great grandmother died young and my Australian “cousin” bears her name and has the family’s freckled phenotype. Amazing!
