Found my mother' family through 23&Me

In 1913 my mother was put in an orphanage. Somehow I knew her biological father's last name. When I did the 23&me test the first relative that showed up on my list had the same last name! Since then I las week I met my mother's two half siblings and first half cousins. We and they never knew the other existed!
My mother went from abandoned orphan to Plantagenet royalty.
Thank You 23&Me for helping me to continue to fill-in some of the blanks.

I’ve learned so much by ordering this kit a couple of years ago. In addition to discovering several cousins, I’ve been able to participate in and learn from research questions that look at traits, diseases and more. I’ve since purchased three additional kits for family members. I highly recommend this product.

Interesting Reports!

I got this kit for Christmas, and I was really excited to get it. When I registered the kit and sent it to the lab, I was interested in how they processed my DNA and collected the raw data from my saliva. The results took a while to come in, but it takes a while to find chromosomes in spit. The genetic health risk and the trait report I received (along with wellness, ancestry, and more!) were very interesting, especially because of the traits and health risks run in the family, such as Celiac disease. The research questions were fun to fill out, and finding relatives to me (such as third through seventh cousins) was also a great feature. Thank you for the DNA test, 23andMe!

The Best gift of my life!!

I did had so many questions unanswered before. Now I understand why I look different from my brothers and sister.. same food I was allergic, I was told why .. the best part I found my biological DAD !! .. he is deceased, but the chain and lock around my neck, that I carry all my life , My New Biological Cousin did had the key.
I AM FREE and got the answers!
I have a brand new family looking forward to meet , the uncles and aunt knew about my existence.

There are not enough exemplary things I could say about this experience. 23andme is not just a "thing" to buy and put on the shelf with all your other stuff. It's a game changer. We are complex units, and 23andme is an opportunity to get to know yourself in a way like no other...no book or article alone can tell you where you...originate! How you connect with the world around you, and the world faraway. And, best of all, really, the best, I have found family members I didn't even know existed...and it is amazing to see photos of 3rd, 4th and 5th cousins, and see a bit of the past that has made it down the path of time into your collective faces...we really are all one family. Thank you 23andme, for helping me see a truly big picture!

I did this test because i was adopted and didnt know my medical history. I found alot out about my history and had an added bonus of my amazing huge new family.
