I love the information that this test has provided me - and it even gave me the results of very important genetic markers for breast cancer risk. The site keeps updating so its like a gift that keeps on giving. New information comes out periodically that is very helpful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Interesting to start but not really valuable to me

We have had an association with 23andMe for a while now. We soon realized that there was limited benefit to the product and it was more of a scam that asked us to repeatedly expand our membership so as to be benefited by this facet or another... and pay for their research and their 'cures'... Interesting to start but not really valuable to an individual..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Geographical Update Doesn't Make Sense

Honestly I don't understand how the geographical updates can change so drastically. How can I originally have over 60% Welsh, 30% German to having no Welsh and 10% German because of an update? I have actual physical copies of manifests and census data from my family that tells me where we originated. The original data matched. The updated version doesn't. It also took away my Jewish ancestry entirely which makes zero sense. It's interesting because I also have my DNA with Ancestry and it's assessment agreed with 23 and Me's original data.

This was an opportunity for me to see my ancestry, and I love the reporting and insights this provides.
However, I am very interested in historical records so I wish I would have purchased the Ancestry.com kit so I could see even more of my family history.
Good kit, just want more family records connected.

I had the privilege to come across this amazing product through my Lupus group and I got a free trial kit and it’s been amazing even connected with a close relative that was adopted and lives in Germany now and we keep in touch
