Wish I Would Have Done It Years Before

I bought it for a health research and also to see where my family may be from as I have no family left to find out. Amazingly I found a half-sister that was doing the same thing that I didn't know existed and we have made contact as a result. Wish I would have done it years and years before -

Package tracking did not work. App makes it extremely difficult to find genetic testing results. App constantly asking for premium purchase.

I got an email on 9/16/2025 offering an upgrade of my 23andMe to 23andMe+premium for $20. I read everything & subscribed but was billed the regular price of $69.

Don’t waste your money

Turning out to be a waste of money. The plan I purchased was supposed to have all these cool reports I was supposed to get but there are only a few available. There are more but I am required to do some sort of training and/or pay for access to those. Additionally, the primary reason I did the test, was to gain insight to my 1/2 sister. She and my dad connected via DNA; however neither of them show in my matches and the customer service team has done nothing but give excuses and put up roadblocks. I can’t even get them to confirm that my dad and 1/2 sister are in the system. All my matches are like very distant cousins that I’m not even interested knowing about. Anyway, big waste of money.

Disappointing! Wrong information. Had a 2nd cousin listed as my first cousin. A lot of information that was useless. I got this as a gift.

Pretty fun stuff

It was fun to experience this process. It isn’t 100% accurate and they make estimates, but fun to see what scientists pulled from my DNA. I have darker features and my parents have lighter, so it wasn’t the most accurate with my genes. I would like to see more of my genes show and less my parents. Non the less a joy!
