It didnt tell me anything new. It was okay. Its nice to know Im not necessarily at risk for most cancers i guess. However if i thought i was going to be having kids i would have found it much more educational.

A Shocker!

For the ancestry part, I was shocked with the result but it did include % of areas that I was aware of. What was more shocking was the suggestions of those who are related to me. One of them had the same last name as my mom and she is living in her place of origin.
As for health and traits, they were really accurate to a 98%

I see very few information than expected

One of my expectations from 23andme is to uncover the lost relatives over time. 23andme identifies me in Southern Indian Subgroup. This group has less data than expected. Also, it have uncovered only up to 5th cousin levels. Not above it. I guess it could be because 23andme is not available in India. Another reason that I went with 23andme was to understand the health information (Health & Trait) through genetics. Again, in so many topics, it covers only a few variants and makes it insufficient information.

My husband bought this for me since I was adopted. It did give me some basic things. However, if you want to know the details or relatives closer to your DNA, you must pay a ridiculous amount of money to get those results. It's so disappointing since this test is not cheap to start with.It is very deceptive, it gives you just enough to get you excited but the part that you really want or need comes with a price tag.

More than I could have asked for

My wonderful husband bought this for me for Christmas and I sent it in. This meant more to me than anything. I was adopted and I was able to find a first cousin who then lead me to my mom! And I am so excited I get to meet her in 2 weeks and I am over the moon. Not only did I learn more medical information but I also and most importantly found her!
I would recommend this to a friend!
