I never knew I was 34% French; it is sad the stigma us humans put on each other, is why that info was kept from me. The rest I already knew

I ordered the “health” version and it barely gives you any information. It tells you that you are negative for certain variants but then says there are other variants that they didn’t test for. I paid over 200$ for my husband and I and I am sooooo very disappointed. Barley gives you any information. Not sure how you can justify the price for these when you do the bare minimum on results. Was going to buy the other one but not now! I will never purchase from 23 and me again. Horrible experience. Really wish I could get my money back.

I loved finding out my genetic background. It was reasonably priced and provided a lot of information. There are even more things I could find out if I wanted to for not much more cost
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm actually very disappointed in 23andMe, because I paid for the Ancestry and Health, but I only got basic ethnicity; the ancestry returned only myself and my brother (who happens to already be a member) and a few random 'third cousins, twice removed'. One of them almost immediately sent me a message asking to meet, but that's also a paid feature, so I feel like that was a scam too.
Also, 23andMe asked me a bunch of health questions, and then the 'results' just so happened to basically tell me everything I answered. It's honestly no better than a Tarot Card reading by a fraudulent astrologer who asks the customer a bunch of questions and then tells them what they wanted to hear. I feel like you guys went through my trash and just made things up based on what you found.
Not to mention all the extra features that I'd have to pay for that weren't included (but should have been) is like paying for a video game and then finding out the most important parts are paid DLC (Downloadable Content).
It's also interesting to see the guidelines for writing this review on the left side of the page, which basically are saying 'Don't say anything bad about the service or the people who work for 23andMe or competitive services like ANCESTRY.COM, which EVERYONE told me was BETTER for what I wanted. I have no idea about the 23andMe CUSTOMER SERVICE, because NOBODY has helped me with anything regarding the service yet (and I'll probably have to pay for that too). I'm not sure why I would focus on anything but the product, so that seems pretty silly to put in the guidelines, but I'm not suprised to find something else 'silly' about 23andMe at this point.
I really would prefer a refund, honestly, so I can go pay for ANCESTRY.COM, which will probably tell me more than that I'm related to Jesse James (who married his cousin) and that I'm '47% more NEANDERTHAL than ALL of their other members.'
What I'd REALLY like to say to 23andMe is something that you forgot to mention in the guidelines; 'Do not use profanity, insults, slander or defamation towards the product or customer service', but you can go ahead and fill in the blanks, like you make your customers do every day. I'd say I wish you all the best, but I don't think you could find your butt with your hands, let alone find out where I'm from or who I'm related to, so I'll just say GOOD LUCK (because that's what your service is based on, it seems.
Sincerely, 'Neanderthal James; third removed'
